Statistics on road freight transported by Great Britain and UK registered Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) in the United Kingdom and internationally in 2019.
Domestic freight activity by GB-registered HGVs operating in the UK increased in 2019.
There were increases compared to 2018 of:
- 2% in the amount of goods lifted, to 1.44 billion tonnes
- 1% in the amount of goods moved, to 154 billion tonne kilometres
International road freight by UK-registered HGVs transporting freight internationally decreased in 2019.
There were decreases compared to 2018 of:
- 6% in the amount of goods lifted, to 8.3 million tonnes
- 12% in the amount of goods moved, to 5.0 billion tonne kilometres
